De-escalation strategies and tactics in night time venues

De-escalation strategies for front line workers in the night time economy, Tuesday 7 May 2024, 12pm to 2pm, Mary's Underground, 29 Reiby Place Sydney NSW 2000

You’re invited to join the Night Time Industries Association for a free interactive training session on the art of conflict de-escalation and risk mitigation in venues.

Delivered by Scott Taylor CPP from Praesidium Risk and Resilience - one of Australia’s leading specialists in security management - this event will give frontline workers a deeper understanding of pre-incident indicators and behavioural tells that can point to an issue emerging.

The session will explain the verbal techniques that can stop an incident from escalating as well as how to interpret the non-verbal traits displayed by potentially hostile people and the indicators that they may resort to violence.

The training is delivered through interactive activities that teach workers in the night time industries how to de-escalate situations. There’s also virtual reality headsets to practise the skills in a variety of settings.

This session is designed for all workers in the night time economy.
