UNSW Digital Makers Series

This program rotates in Liverpool, Fairfield and Parramatta to link you with the rich local resources, so it is highly recommended you attend all sessions in person.

The Digital Makers Series is tailor-made for those who want to learn how to build digital experiences & apps with tools such as Figma, Shopify, Framer and more. This program has launched several innovative digital companies in the past. No skills are required. Open to everyone. We encourage applications from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. We are accepting applications from participants across all age ranges 16 and above.

The program is designed by UNSW Founders, in collaboration with the Liverpool Innovation Precinct, Liverpool City Council, Campbelltown City Council, and Western Sydney University. Programs are proudly supported by Investment NSW.

• Workshop 5 (Building Landing Pages with Framer): Thursday 25 July 2024, 5pm - 7pm at L5 UNSW co-campus at Western Sydney University,6 Hassall St, Parramatta
• Workshop 6 (How to build good user interfaces): Thursday 1 August 2024, 5pm - 7pm at L5 UNSW co-campus at Western Sydney University, 6 Hassall St, Parramatta
• Workshop 7 (Demo Night): Thursday 8 August 2024, 5pm - 7pm at Liverpool Library

Please BYO your own laptop and mouse. Catering will be provided for all sessions.

Upon acceptance, we will email you calendar invites for all of the above workshops. Please accept the invitations for those workshops that you are able to attend.

EVENT AGENDAS

• Workshop 1: Learn about digital prototyping, what a good idea looks like, the importance of failure, and start your first prototype!
• Workshop 2: Learn how to use Figma, the most widely-used digital prototyping tool. This is a highly engaging workshops where you will learn a tonne!
• Workshop 3: Complete your Figma prototype and recap your learnings. Learn how you can begin including Figma work in your portfolio.
• Workshop 4: Learn about Shopify and how you can build a full e-Commerce website. Learn about CMS systems and why they are essential to building modern websites.
• Workshop 5: Learn how to use Framer to build your first marketing website; a landing page. Collect expressions of interest and learn how to make cool animations.
• Workshop 6: Dive into what makes good vs great UX. Learn the fundamental properties of good user interfaces, and how to begin building your design portfolio.
• Workshop 7: Showcase what your are building, and learn about what others have built. A great evening full of learning and food, for all!
