2023 Fairfield City Lifetime Business Awards

The Lifetime Business Award pays tribute to the owners of businesses throughout our Local Government Area that have stood the test of time, having traded for more than 25 years.

This year, Tyreworld is celebrating a remarkable 50 years in business – one family, one location, a significant achievement and tenure for the Spillane family.

Jack and Peg Spillane began their journey in 1973 when they took over ‘Fairfield Iceworks’ at 62 Railway Parade Fairfield and later established Tyreworld. In 1988 the Spillane family constructed a modern garage onsite in response to the increasing demand for vehicle maintenance and repair from a growing community, and the rest as they say is history.

Michael Spillane – son of Jack and Peg, began working alongside his father to support the family business in 1984 and is now at the helm of the business. Michael and the team’s commitment to providing great products and services has not only earned its stellar reputation but built a loyal customer base that still sees some of Tyreworld’s original customers from 50 years ago and their families using the service, including many who have since left the Fairfield area returning to get their vehicles serviced by Michael and his team.

For half a century, Tyreworld has stood as a beacon of excellence in the heart of our City and Michael and the team, credit its success to hard work and long-lasting relationships with the Fairfield community.
