Budget highlights in the South-West: Fairfield

Health

  • Continuation of the $550.0 million Fairfield Hospital redevelopment, to deliver more beds, increase the capacity of critical care services and expand other hospital and ambulatory care services.
  • $6.5 million for the Karitane Carramar Integrated Care Hub designed to improve access to health and parenting support services for families in the Fairfield area and across NSW.

Education

  • Investment in a new school hall for Yennora Public School and Verona School.
  • As part of the NSW Government’s 100 public preschools election commitment, the following sites have been selected for new public preschools:
    • Cabramatta West Public School
    • Carramar Public School
    • Edensor Park Public School
    • Fairfield West Public School
    • Governor Philip King Public School
    • Lansvale East Public School
    • Mount Pritchard Public School
    • Prairievale Public School
    • Villawood North Public School
    • William Stimson Public School.

Transport

  • New dedicated bus services connecting Fairfield to the new Western Sydney Airport.
  • $60.0 million for the Western Sydney Freight Line – Final Business Case, jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments.
  • An additional $110.2 million for the M7-M12 Interchange.

Local Communities

Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program is funding projects to be delivered by Fairfield City Council, including:

  • $28 million towards the $46.5 million Fairfield Showground Stage 2 – Indoor Entertainment and Sporting Centre, a multi-purpose four court indoor facility
  • $16 million for the Endeavour Sports Park project which will include a new synthetic field, sized for two soccer pitches, an AFL or a cricket pitch
  • $6.3 million for the $6.5 million Brenan Park project which will deliver more spaces for sports and adventure play for all ages
  • $4.2 million for the Community Park Embellishment in Canley Vale project which will deliver a range of facilities including a pump track, ninja obstacle course, walking tracks, exercise equipment and amenities.
